The In-house BCA Champions League is set to start up the 5th season on June 29th, 2011. We will be holding a Captains Meeting at 7 p.m. on June 15th and any potential players should try to be in attendence. We will also be hosting an 8-ball Tournament starting at 7:30 p.m. that night, open to anyone. Stingers Bar & Grill has been home to the league the past 4 seasons. The league started with only 6 teams and has grown into a full field of 10 teams (5 Players/Team/Week). The 2011 Winter/Spring Session contained the most competitive group of players any league in Arizona has seen in a very long time. Numerous State, Regional and National Champions were found throughout the tough field of teams. In addition, there were many 5's, 6's and 7 rated players mixing it up with the big boys and causing many upsets throughout the season! The league has it's own redefined custom handicapping system
that allows for lower rated teams to be competitive in the Race Format. Teams with lower combined Team Handicap are given games on the wire depending on the actual handicap spread. This format allows for teams to be very competitive in a team format such as the State, Regional and National Tournaments. All games are scored by Win/Loss and not the points per ball format, which allows the game of 8-ball to be played the way it was meant to be played.
We have lost 1 or 2 teams from last season and are looking to fill those spots and again lock the league at a full 10 teams. Each week Matches start at 7:30 p.m. and every match is played on 2, $.50 Diamond Smart Tables. Teams all receive 1 team drink, Mid and End Season Tournaments with added money, Team Shirts for National and State Events and a fully catered end of the season banquet with excellent food made in-house in the Stingers Kitchen. We also have been contacted by numerous teams that want to form and join a Tuesday or Thursday Night Pool League. If we got enough interest to field atleast 6 full teams on either or both nights, we will make that happen for the players!
